Seeking Good Debt

The purpose of this blog is to share my knowledge of debt with business and personal borrowers.  Businesses and consumers have gone on a debt binge for the last several decades.  We have a debt obesity epidemic in this country that is inhibiting value creation in countries and homes around the world.  Companies and families are being blown apart because of a tsunami of debt.  Businesses and households need to address their “debt weight” and shed financial burdens.  I have over 15 years of professional borrowing experience with a large, Fortune 500 company (please read the legal disclaimer in the About Me page).  My experience covers every level of borrowing from my personal home mortgage and auto loans to my employer’s multi-hundred-million-dollar commercial real estate loans.  I’m neither a lender nor a mortgage broker.  I work the borrowing side of the debt business.  My job is to maximize the effectiveness of any loan and add substantial value to the enterprise through borrowing.  I have the same strategy at home.  Anytime I borrow money, I seek “good debt” that creates substantial value for my family while minimizing the disruption to quality of life and cash flow.  I’m not against borrowing money but I am a strong proponent of effective and responsible borrowing.  I want to share with you what I know and this blog is my podium.
